Before being on the monday class, i had one lesson in the “Genie Mechanique et Mecanique” english class. As we were supposed to do a courselog, I did not post this class summary on the blog but today before erasing it on my computer, I thought it would be good to put these lines on the net.

English class started today! Well, it took place rather late in the afternoon and it made me go back home when the sun was already down. We were like 30 guys coming from different scientific fields but unfortunately, there was not enough places for every one… the teacher, went to look for help with her colleagues and finally 9 of us were dispatched in other classes. Next week I’ll be on the Monday afternoon class. Anyway, I had to stay in today’s class and this is what I learned:
Today’s lesson:
The first exercise we did was to learn the names of our friends with an interesting game called “the ball game”. A small ball, (like a cat’s or dog’s ball that makes a strange sound when we squeeze it), had to be thrown to a colleague and while doing so, we had to acquaint ourselves by saying our first name. After a few throws and catching, the rules of the game changed and we then had to guess the name of the catcher. This game lasted for about 15mins and we managed to learn a few names.
The English program for this year was introduced to us by the teacher and the notes allocation given.

We then did a reading comprehension during class time:”sifting through the sands of time” and we corrected it in the same breath.
Other photocopies of reading comprehension exercises were given to us as homework. For the next class, we have to find an article that will serve as a support for debate classes. A lot of work awaits us!! Next week I’ll be moving to another group. I just hope that I would not have much to catch up.
